Ensuring student welfare and attending to matters of a disciplinary nature. Providing students with advice and support throughout their residence. Ensuring a community feel to the Halls Village. Providing accurate and relevant information to students and family/friends of students. To be an accurate sign-poster to key university support systems. Rota system On-Duty shifts which involve responding to site call outs for emergencies and welfare reasons. Performing an active role during fire drills each semester. Conducting weekly visits to the flats encompassed in my care.

Run information sessions about the Peer Guiding Scheme. Recruit volunteers for the role. Provide training to new and returning Peer Guides. Run focus groups in order to gather qualitative data about past experiences with the scheme from both students and the peer guides.

Student Mentor to run a class of up to 20 HE Students. Responsibilities included facilitating peer feedback on oral presentations in academic style. Providing critical evaluations for presentations. Keeping of basic administration including registrations and individual student tracker sheets. This role also included providing individual support to students with Personal Learning Support Plans. This support was in the form of short one to one meetings to discuss causes of anxiety with the specific students and methods to assist their learning and progression in the class.

Paid summer internship in the Bangor Employability Award (BEA) office leading a project titled: “Students’ Union Clubs and Societies Recognition Project”

Role: Liaise and work collaboratively with relevant Bangor Students’ Union officers and staff. Develop qualitative data-gathering methods (surveys, interviews). Manage and organise survey submissions and other qualitative data. Produce descriptive statements for each club/society role. Develop ideas for potential awareness-raising of SU clubs & societies with regard to BEA and HEAR. Data input work.
